Welcome to the New Zealand Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)
Based in New Plymouth, the country's oil and gas hub located on the west coast of the North Island, we are a relatively small section of 100 members whose main activities involve technical information sharing at lunchtime gatherings, networking (including an annual golf tournament and social evenings), and general efforts to enhance the future of New Zealand's petroleum engineering resource base through the growth and management of our Scholarship Trust fund targeted at engineering students.
We were also very pleased to launch our first Student Chapter at the University of Auckland in October 2009, certainly an exciting and major milestone for the New Zealand SPE Section.
The purpose of this website is to provide our members with the latest news and information pertaining to our section's activities along with an effort to display past events. Furthermore we would like to give interested non-members the opportunity to learn about our organisation with a view to joining.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you have any questions about the New Zealand SPE Section, please feel free to contact any of our committee members.
Section Chairman,
Richard Crowe
